Quick answer
Select HARD in the Farmhouse creation panel before pressing Create. Do not make Hard your first run: clear Normal, learn the 25-hay opening loop, and buy enough progression that collecting and traveling no longer feel immovable. Hard does not replace the objective sequence—you still collect hay, sell at the cow, buy upgrades, and repeat.
Enter Hard Mode
- Walk into the FARMHOUSE portal.
- Change the difficulty from Normal to Hard.
- Choose the intended party size.
- Press Create and confirm the teleport message names Hard.
Difficulty is a pre-run setting. If the teleport message says Normal, return to the lobby instead of assuming the map will become Hard later.
Readiness checklist
Hard is a sensible next step when all of these are true:
- You can complete the collect → cow → sell transition without waiting on the tracker.
- Speed progression makes the barn trip short enough that travel is not the main delay.
- Grasp progression removes more hay per action than the fresh-save opening.
- You spend cash after a sale rather than carrying it through several cycles.
- You have already seen the Found the Needle! completion signal on Normal.
The illustrated Farmhouse guide documents both difficulty choices and recommends Normal for a first clear. It also warns that starting Hard without banked upgrades can make the run stall.
Keep the same objective discipline
Hard Mode punishes wasted actions more than Normal. Use the tracker as a state machine:
| Objective | Correct action |
|---|---|
| Collect Hay | Work the haystack until the bag is full. |
| Give the Hay to the Cow | Leave the pile and sell at the barn window. |
| Cash available | Open Tab and improve the slowest part of the cycle. |
Do not keep clicking a full bag. Do not wait beside the cow while the tracker still asks for hay. Do not hold early cash when a Speed or Grasp purchase can shorten every following loop.
When to drop back to Normal
Return to Normal when the first few sell cycles produce no meaningful acceleration, when walking dominates the run, or when capacity is repeatedly reached before you notice the objective change. A Normal clear is not wasted: it is the safer environment for building the habits and progression Hard expects.
After the route feels automatic, review the upgrade order and try Hard again. The goal is not to survive a hidden mechanic; it is to make a long economic loop efficient enough to expose the Needle sooner.
Completion and next actions
Hard uses the same platform-level confirmation as other successful finds: Roblox lists an enabled Found the Needle! Badge whose description states that it is awarded for finding the Needle. Hard-specific rewards are not assumed here unless the game shows them.
For role-based progression, use Classes and Gems. For the separate collectible, see the UFO status page.
A practical first Hard attempt
Treat the first attempt as a comparison with your Normal route. Use the same path between the pile and cow, spend after each early sale, and watch whether the cycle becomes faster after a purchase. If you repeatedly arrive at the cow with the wrong objective, slow down and use the tracker rather than trying to compensate with more clicks.
Set a simple exit point before starting: if several complete sell cycles still feel nearly static, return to Normal and improve the underlying loop. Staying in a slow run does not teach a different objective sequence. A shorter Normal run can be the more efficient next move because it gives you another chance to practice clean transitions and review the available upgrades.
Hard Mode questions
Does Hard use a different portal? No. Choose Hard in the creation panel reached through the FARMHOUSE portal.
Should a new player select Hard immediately? The reviewed walkthrough recommends Normal first. Learn the route and build progression before switching.
Does Hard guarantee a separate badge? The official badge list confirms the general Found the Needle! award, but it does not state a Hard-only badge. Check the live game for any additional reward claim.
